Write for us

We welcome pitches from writers who can explain a community-life subject with care, clarity and a distinct point. Proposals are sent through the Contact page; please choose the editorial question option and include enough detail for us to assess the idea.

What to pitch

We are interested in specific, evergreen subjects about shared places, local traditions, community groups, neighbourhood life and participation. A strong pitch identifies its central question, intended reader and the practical or explanatory value the finished piece will offer.

Make the angle clear

Tell us what the article will cover and what it will leave out. Explain how you will handle differences between communities, what information the piece depends on, and why its approach is distinct from broad advice or a general introduction.

Keep it grounded

We favour clear, original writing that does not rely on unsupported claims, invented examples or sweeping statements about a community. Do not send confidential material or include personal information that is not necessary to assess the proposal.

How to send a proposal

Use the Contact page and select the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short summary, the proposed category and a brief description of your relevant perspective. A proposal is not a promise of publication.
